This is the scene along Roxas Boulevard, in the Baclaren district of metro Manila. The traffic gets especially heavy here on Wednesdays when the nearby National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help hosts tens of thousands of worshippers who come to pray for the miraculous powers of the Byzantine-like icon of the Virgin Mary.
